The SVM™ series gives you more parameters than any other kinematic viscometer on the market. There are three different models: SVM™ 2001 is a quick and easy-to-use viscometer for measuring kinematic viscosity at any temperature between 15 °C and 100 °C, whereas SVM™ 3001 provides measurements between -60 °C and +135 °C. A single measuring cycle on a small sample volume yields kinematic viscosity, density, dynamic viscosity, Viscosity Index and more. SVM™ 4001 is a double-cell instrument especially tailored for simultaneous measurements of viscosity and density at two different temperatures. It automatically provides the Viscosity Index from only a small amount of sample. Different accessories, such as automated samplers or a hot filling attachment, and modularity options are available for the series.
SVM™ provides our customers with an exceptional solution that is unique on the market: The possibility to not only measure viscosity, but multiple parameters from only one syringe. From kinematic and dynamic viscosity to density measurements and more – the possibilities are vast. Each parameter measured by SVM™ 3001 or SVM™ 4001 complies with the following industry standards:
The SVM™ series stands out for its unbeatable ease of operation, from the initial start-up to the maintenance of the instruments. The devices come factory-adjusted, which means they are ready for immediate use. The measurement is started by simply injecting the sample from a syringe. The SVM™ instruments guarantee safe and easy handling during the measurement procedure, without leaks or breakage. In addition, easy cleaning with a wash bottle simplifies the work.
An outstanding feature of the SVM™ series is the small amount of sample and solvent volume required to obtain precise measurement results. This not only simplifies the measuring procedure, but also lowers costs the minimum sample volume is only 1.5 mL and the amount of solvent needed for cleaning is low. Disposal costs can therefore be considerably reduced. Therefore, these SVM™ instruments not only impress with their performance, but also with their sustainability.
The instruments of our SVM™ series provide a wide temperature range for both viscosity and density. SVM™ 3001 comes with a range from -60 °C to +135 °C for measuring jet fuel and diesel fuel as well as lubricating oil and wax – with only one integrated cell. Temperatures down to -20 °C can be reached with built-in air cooling (without external cooling), whereas temperatures as low as -60 °C are reached by using external cooling with water/glycol mixtures; no flammable liquids are required. SVM™ 4001 is designed to determine viscosity and density simultaneously at any two temperatures between 15 °C and 100 °C.
The SVM™ instruments have one measuring cell for the entire viscosity, density, and temperature range and the sample is measured in one go. This means that samples of different viscosity, such as jet fuels, lubricating oils, heavy fuels and waxes, can all be tested with one integrated measuring cell, which is especially relevant for testing laboratories. In addition, SVM™ 3001 enables you to perform temperature scans and gain knowledge of the sample’s behavior such as low temperature fluidity. Connecting the SVM™ with the 71-position sample changer means you are free to perform other important tasks.
